Gillingham Festival Community | Blog | Cyclist Laura Trott On Hen Do

Joanna Rowsell recently swapped lyrca for a more glamorous approach as she recently celebrated her hen do. At the end of May Joanna, 26 officially tied the knot to her former fiancé banker, Dan Shand.

We all love a celebrity wedding, especially when the hen do team leaders are our Team GB Cyclists. Joanna’s close training partners, Laura Trott and Dani King joined to make the most of the celebrations before their heavy training regime began again for the year to come.

Joanna sported a beautiful gold “bride to be” hen party sash and novelty veil at her hen party, and gold it should be indeed for all the hard work she has done so far! Aside from her party sash, Joanna looked comfortable but glamorous – a great combination of sensibility we are seeing, opting for gorgeous pink lace dress followed with gold plated sandals.

Prior to the Australians phenomenal win in Paris 2014, Joanna has spoken in various statements and interviews. Joanna stated “This year it wasn’t so much of a wakeup call. We all knew how good the Aussies were.” Following statements of how none of the team assumed they were going to walk out of the World Championships with it all.

Joanna, Laura and Dani are beginning their training preparations very soon for the Rio Olympics in 2016, which is slowly sneaking up on all of us. After the GB team stated that it was a disappointing defeat in Paris, they were aware that the Aussies were coming – meaning they’ve upped their training regimes for the upcoming event and are feeling confident.
